OPENING
In the opening
address the Sergeant at Arms, Esther Chandy, told the audience how years of
saving money allowed her to reap the rewards of a career break without
compromising her lifestyle, which gave her time to strategize for the future. She
urged the audience to think about what they are sowing today.
PRESIDENT’S ADDRESS
The President,
Cherian Thomas, narrated yet another anecdote from his inexhaustible store, of
how Peter Carter’s kindness to Roger Federer as his coach, is returned every
year by Roger to Peter’s parents after Peter’s death.
TOASTMASTER OF THE DAY
Yogesha
Chowdegowda debuted as Toastmaster of the Day. He introduced Toastmasters to
the audience and also introduced the founder of our club, Mr. Robinson D’Souza
to the audience. He concluded with a poem:

Sow a character, reap a destiny.

Ugly Duckling’.
